Subsidised Tractorisation Programme Across Kwara Central
In a renewed effort to strengthen food security and support rural development, Senator Saliu Mustapha launched a Subsidised Tractorisation Programme aimed at enhancing mechanized farming and improving agricultural productivity across Kwara Central Senatorial District.

The initiative provides farmers with access to tractors and modern farming tools at highly subsidised rates, reducing the cost of land preparation and encouraging large-scale cultivation. It is a key step in the Senator’s vision to empower rural communities and promote sustainable agricultural growth in the district.
Through the programme, tractors were distributed to the four local government areas of Kwara Central — Ilorin East, Ilorin South, Ilorin West, and Asa — ensuring that smallholder and cooperative farmers benefit directly from the intervention. This latest phase builds on earlier distributions to farmer groups and associations, further consolidating the Senator’s agricultural empowerment agenda.

The initiative — tagged Turaki Sagbedoba — aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agriculture Development Programme, reflecting the Senator’s dedication to leveraging his position as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture Production Services and Rural Development to deliver meaningful, people-centered impact.

This Subsidised Tractorisation Programme reinforces his commitment to building a food-secure, economically vibrant, and self-reliant Kwara Central, where farmers have the tools and opportunities to thrive in a modern agricultural economy.
