Distribution of Tractors and Essential Farm Inputs to Farmers, Cooperatives, and Agricultural Associations

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen food security and support rural livelihoods, Senator Saliu Mustapha facilitated the distribution of tractors and essential farm inputs to farmers, cooperatives, and agricultural associations across Kwara Central Senatorial District.

This initiative aims to promote mechanized farming, increase agricultural productivity, and empower rural communities to achieve greater self-reliance. The intervention directly supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on agriculture and rural development.

Through the project, local farmers gained access to modern farming tools and machinery that reduce manual labor, improve efficiency, and expand cultivation capacity. Beneficiaries include youth and community-based groups engaged in food production across Ilorin East, Ilorin South, Ilorin West, and Asa local government areas.

The distribution event also reflected the Senator’s broader commitment to inclusive empowerment. Community leaders and youth associations, such as the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), Fulani, Nupe and the Hausa Farmers’ Cooperative, expressed appreciation for the gesture, highlighting its immediate impact on local productivity and livelihoods.

This agricultural empowerment programme reinforces the Senator’s vision of a prosperous and self-sustaining Kwara Central, where farmers are equipped to thrive in a modern, technology-driven agricultural economy.
