Medical Outreach Programme Including Surgeries and Opticals

In a remarkable display of compassionate leadership, Senator Saliu Mustapha, the distinguished representative of Kwara Central Senatorial District, successfully concluded a two-day intensive free medical outreach that brought quality healthcare services to the doorsteps of his constituents. The impactful program, held on January 25-26, 2025, provided critical medical interventions to hundreds of residents across Ilorin East and Asa Local Government Areas.

Organized in collaboration with the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), the medical outreach offered comprehensive healthcare services at two strategic locations: Seriki Driver House in Gambari, Ilorin East LGA, and the Court of Daudu Afon in Asa LGA. The initiative featured:

General medical consultations: for conditions including malaria, diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and various infections
Specialized surgical procedures: such as hernia repairs, hydrocele operations, and appendectomies
Vision restoration services: including cataract surgeries that returned sight to many who had lived in darkness for years

Preliminary reports indicate outstanding results:
– Over 1,200 constituents received medical consultations
– 87 successful surgical procedures performed
– 42 cataract surgeries restoring vision
– Hundreds treated for chronic and acute conditions

The overwhelming success of this medical mission has set a new benchmark for constituency healthcare projects, demonstrating Senator Mustapha’s innovative approach to grassroots development and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people.
