T-Cash Scheme — Cash Empowerment for SMEs, Traders & Craftsmen

In a major boost to local entrepreneurship and job creation, Senator Saliu Mustapha disbursed ₦100 million in cash grants to over 300 small business owners, craftsmen, and skilled workers across Kwara Central Senatorial District.

Implemented in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), the initiative is designed to strengthen small enterprises, create jobs, and promote economic independence among constituents.

The programme was conceived to uplift entrepreneurs and help them expand their businesses. This emphasize on the Senator’s consistent commitment to empowering people through sustainable, self-reliant initiatives rather than temporary handouts.

Grants ranging from ₦100,000 to ₦500,000 were awarded to beneficiaries from the four local government areas — Ilorin East, Ilorin South, Ilorin West, and Asa. The support is expected to ease financial constraints, stimulate enterprise growth, and enhance livelihoods across the district.

SMEDAN, described the initiative as a milestone in the empowerment of local craftsmen and small-scale business operators, noting that they remain the “lifeblood of the economy.” The agency will complement the intervention with training, mentorship, and capacity-building support to ensure its long-term impact.

Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to Senator Mustapha for the assistance, describing it as timely and transformative.

This SME Cash Grant Programme adds to Senator Mustapha’s expanding portfolio of economic empowerment and development initiatives, reaffirming his vision for a productive, self-reliant, and economically vibrant Kwara Central.
