Dry Season Farming and Horticultural Value Chain Training

A two-day capacity-building workshop on dry season farming and horticulture, facilitated by Senator Saliu Mustapha, has successfully concluded in Kwara Central Senatorial District.

The program, held from November 13 to 14, 2024, at the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority in Basin, Ilorin, empowered 200 youth and women with vital skills to thrive in the agricultural sector.

The training, organized in collaboration with the National Horticultural Research Institute (NIHORT) and Gemstone Integrated Farm Nigeria Ltd, covered essential aspects of horticulture, including modern production techniques, value addition, and market strategies.

Participants also learned how to optimize dry season farming to ensure year-round agricultural productivity. The training equipped the participants with practical knowledge and tools to enhance their livelihoods.
